Felting fun.

I bought this felt months and months ago and I finally got around to using it. What I made is kinda pointless, but it was fun to make and I like the feel and look of the finished product.

I felted rocks (which I had collected months and months ago, too)

What you need:

roving wool, rocks, hot soapy water, and cold water

So here is my roving wool and some semi flat rocks.

I selected a rock and then gently pulled off enough wool to go around the rock.
I loosly placed it around the rock. And then put it in the hot soapy water.

I then took it out and kinda tossed it back and forth between my hands until it cooled. Then I repeated the process of dipping it in the hot soapy water and tossing it in my hands until the wool had shrunk to the desired size. Then rinsed it in cold water and shaped it a little if it needed it.

And then set them out to dry....on a cooling rack or a towel.
And
Wala! The finished product.

I am thankful for being able to do this craft with my oldest. It made her feel so grown up to do something that I thought her sisters were too little to join in.

Very bright, but cute.

On my last spree at the fabric store I let her pick out some material that she liked. And, of course, it was orange. I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted it to look, but after browsing the internet to get some ideas this is what I decided to do. I added a flower just for fun.....and because I just can't seem to get enough of them! And she was so excited that she got to wear it to church today.

I am grateful for the things that my mom taught me on the sewing machine.

Curse that fabric store!

Photobucket

I knew it.

I told myself not to even go by it.

But I did.

I went into the fabric store and came out with a bundle of fabric.

So I went to work on the fabric right away or else I knew that I would forget what I was going to do with it when I came across it stashed away some where in a couple of months.

My living room needed some personality added to it so I recovered my pillows and added some blue to the room while I was at it.

I am thankful that my sewing machine didn't give me too many problems this time.

I am on a roll!

Photobucket

Wow! I must say that I am grateful that I was able to check another thing off my craft 'to-do' list. It was just growing and growing while I wasn't doing anything that was on it. So *check*! Here is the shirt that I wanted to make for what seems like forever. The instructions can be found at Tea Rose Home. Mine looks just like hers but in red.

Super Bowl Sunday

Photobucket

Wasn't too into watching the game this time, so my sil came over and we worked on some sewing projects. Here is mine. Didn't really have a pattern for it so I just took a chance and winged it and I think it turned out alright. And it is reversable. : o

I am grateful when things turn out better than planned.

Super easy

Photobucket

I don't have the best sewing skills, but I found this little flower quite easy to make. You can find the pattern at Tea Rose Home.

And I am grateful for finding another use for old clothes.

Another one finished?

Photobucket

Went to finish another projeect today. A few months ago I started to re-do my entryway....added beadboard, painted the walls red,etc (the beadboard isn't all the way finished....we still need to add the chair rail to one of the walls). I want it to be more of a mud room and since I can't really afford a real bench with the budget I have I opted to use something else. At Ikea I found some unfinished stools for cheap and got 3 of them. So today I painted them white, but I am really undecisive on how I want the top of them to look. I know I don't want them just plain white. I really don't like how undecisive I am....oh well. So I didn't actually finish the stools, but I am grateful that atleast they are painted! =)

Make that a kazillion and one.

I tend to get a little too excited and anxious about projects and ideas that I see. So my goal is to NOT start any new projects until ALL of the kazillion that I have started over the past year are done, finished, completed.

Photobucket

So I have spent the past couple of days working on finishing some frames that I started months ago. Here are 2 of the finished ones. I love the blue one, but am a little iffy on the other one. =/

Oh well. I can always fix it.

I am grateful for tole paint.
