Someone snitched my Camera

I love it when I find things on my camera that my kids took pictures of.

I am grateful to get a glimpse at how my kids see the world.

Sunsets and Rainstorms

It has been raining all day and as I was driving home from running errands, the sun broke through the clouds and bathed everything in a rich gold tone.

So I decided to drive by our lot and enjoy the view.

I am thankful that beauty can be found even in the weeds that grow around us.

So I ran across these A-mazing snowflake photos taken by Alexey Kljatov.
He tells his method about how he does these simply stunning macro photos and I thought that I would see what I could get using one of my lenses.  Obviously I didn't have the same cool lens to use as he did, but I thought that it would be fun to try.  Heck....I didn't even really do the same set up as him,  I just held my lens up to my camera (guess you could say I was too lazy haha!).

But anyway I was surprised at the detail I was able to pick up.

I did another photo shoot with my niece, but I got a little excited about how cute she is and decided that the photo editing can come later.....isn't she a doll?!

I am grateful for my newest little sweet, sweet niece.

I'm grateful that I had the chance to help out my Brother in-laws family at the last minute.

I am thankful that I managed to get some photos while she is still considered a newborn. yea!

I have been looking forward to taking pictures of my new babe shortly after I found out I was pregnant. I want to get the newborn shots done with in 2 weeks of life for her. But the 2 weeks is almost up and I still find I can hardly move without being in pain. I managed to pull out some 'props' but who knows if I will have the energy to take any photos before the end of the week.

whoa is me. lol.

I am grateful that I have her around 24 hours a day so I can take pictures...props or no props. =)

Practice

I didn't take these pictures today, but I still wanted to post them.

I am thankful that my SIL asked me to take some family photos for them. It was fun and good practice and I hope that they like them.

Yesterday my hubby and I went to the hospital and got to meet our newest little niece. And I must say she is so so so cute and sweet and perfect!

I am grateful that it seemed to make my hubby excited to have another of our own after holding her.......some of you know how hard it was for him to agree to another one.

Little Baby Blue Eyes

I told myself not to post any of them so they could have the pick of them for their Christmas cards (since we know alot of the same people)....but I chose one. I just couldn't help it. But it is not in focus very well, and not the best out of the bunch. I just love this little baby. She is such a doll. So I just had to post one of her.

I got the chance to babysit this cutie-patootie today. She was a doll and so good! I just couldn't help it and had to take some pictures of her!

After all, it is good practice for the little one that will be joining my family in June. = )

Had a photoshoot with this sweet little one. She is such a cute baby, it was hard to choose just one photo to post.

Something new.

My sil asked me if I could show her how to use somethings on her camera. I have never done that before for someone, so it was interesting to see if I could actually explain things in a way for someone else to understand. Hope I didn't confuse her too much!

I am grateful that it was a nice day out today.

5 little beauties

I had the chance today to take photos of 5 beautiful little girls...all in frilly, fluffy skirts.

I chose to post this one because this is my niece that lives oh so far away from me and I don't get to see her very often.

Sorry for the odd editing. I was playing around with it and wanted an antique/vintage feel to it.

I am thankful that all 5 of them (well, maybe I should say all but my little A) were so fun and willing to let me take pictures of them.

I am grateful for the beautiful things that I can find around my yard.

Dealing with bad lighting

oh goodness. I am flattered and all that, but I am very nervous.

My father-in-laws cousin remembered that I was into photography from the one time that I met her this summer and she called me and asked me to take a family photo with all her kids and their kids. I said sure. I couldn't pass up this chance to get some more experience (no matter how nervous I am at messing everything up). It was a group of 21 people. And it would only be the second time that I have taken a large group photo. And the room that she wanted it done in had THE worst lighting. I told her that I was worried about the lighting and that I didn't have any of the fancy lighting or reflectors and such, but I do have a nice hot shoe flash. So she still said that she wanted me to do it. So here it is the day before and I am going into all the rooms with awful lighting for pictures and seeing what works best. Here's one....of ma and Acadia. She always knew where to find the stash of nuts.

I am thankful for the chance to gain more experience....even if I am intimidated by it.

Just wish I had more confidence in myself.
