I am grateful that my mom was able to join us to see the youth theather production of Pirates of Penzance. It was rather humorous and fun to watch.

Every summer our city puts on a musical in the park. And every year we try to go to it. This year it was The King and I.
I am grateful for all those who were involved in the production of this show. It was a lot of fun to watch!
We went to explore another thing in our city. The bird place (I can't think of the real name of it now). It is a great place to go bird watching and lots of birds nest there. Bald Eagles are popular there in the spring. And it is free. yippee!

We had a lot of fun checking it out....but we mostly just drove around because there seemed to be a lot of horse flies. (You can see one on Ashlyn's bum)
The girls were kind of bummed because they really wanted to hike around somewhere (even though they were all in flip flops). So we went and found a trail at the base of the mountain that we hadn't checked out yet. I am thankful that my girls love to hike.
We went on another city adventure today. I am grateful that I am finding so many close to my house.
This one was to one of the many hiking trails.....and it was only about 2 minutes away. This one is a paved one and relatively flat. Part of it goes past the animals at Lagoon and part of it went to the duck pond.

I told the girls that we would bring the bikes....and that was before I tried to figure out how to get 2 bikes and a trike in the car. =/ But I managed to jam them all in hoping that I would be able to get them back out.
But it all worked out and they rode while I walked pushing Acadia.....and at times pushing both Acadia and Ella on their bikes when there was a hill. It is a good thing that it was shady because we were wandering the trail for about 2 hours....and we had to stop because I was the one who's legs were tired.

We are trying to do a lot of the things that our city has to offer this summer...... trying to do the mostly free ones!
And today we went to the duck pond (at least that is what we call it). It is about 2 minutes from our house. But today when we went we saw only 2 ducks and TONS of geese. The girls had fun, but we come to find out that you shouldn't feed ducks/geese bread. I guess you are supposed to use chicken feed. Guess we will have to do that next time.
Then after feeding the geese we hiked up to where the stream meets the pond and played in the stream water. The pond is not for swimming, fishing only, but that is fine with me because the stream water looks so much more inviting and refreshing.
I am thankful that we had a rain-free day today.
