A little bit of sugar and marshmallows and frosting and....

ok....so I think I am done running around trying to get everything ready for the big day. And I will spend the rest of today trying to decorate the cake. It has always been a big thing to make fun cakes for my kids birthdays..... mainly because that is something that I remember most about my birthdays growing up....these awesome cakes that my mom would make!

So when I asked Ella what kind of cake she wanted she said a castle cake. Oh dear. So after searching the web and looking at what seems like a kazillion different kind of castle cakes, I think I know how I want to make this one....and as I am making it I keep thinking 'Well, I guess if I screw it up I can always just have Weston grab a cake at the store.' It isn't all finished in this picture....but so far so good. The next post will have the finished product.

I am thankful for people who post their ideas and give instructions on how they did it.
