I am grateful for seeing your hard work pay off...which Ella got to see today. She came home with a certificate from school that said that she was one of the school districts most accomplished readers. Along with it was an invitaion to an open house to recieve $50 in books.
Now if you know her, you know that school has not come easy for her. She was well behind the rest of the class at the beginning, and even the middle, of the year in reading. And here, just in the last few months she caught on and is right on track now! She kept asking me to tell her again and again why she was getting free books....and every time she would just grin from ear to ear.
Getting this reward for trying hard and being able to catch up to the rest of the class has motivated her to read even more. I am finding her reading just about everything and she is always surprising me with the words that she can read.

That is fantastic! Way to go Ella! I am proud of you! It is great when accomplishments are rewarded by some other than Mom and Dad.

I'm having happy tears for her! I know how much work that requires (for kids and parents!) and I'm sooooo proud of her!! That is awesome your district does that! I can just hear her little voice asking you that and see her smiling! This makes me day! WOW!
