Curse that toilet!

Photobucket

Ok. So a few weeks ago we moved our bedroom down stairs even though the entire bathroom is not finished.....some baseboards and mainly the shower.

When we started work down there, we had to cut the concrete and move the toilet drain. We ended up accidently cutting the sink pipe (because it wasn't put in deep enough). So that lead to us having to call a plumber to come in and repair that in addition to piping the new toilet drain, the shower heads, and the sink drains/water access. We also had to have roto-rooter come and clean out the pipes because the drain for the soon-to-be shower backed up some how when I ran the disposal from the kitchen. So when we finally got the bathroom finished enough to put in the toilet we were bummed when, after a couple uses, it seemed to be clogging. ggggggrrrrr.

So we plunged it and it ran smoothly for a while. And then today, at about 10pm, it cloggs again. So my hubby starts to plunge it and, as he plunging it, water and stuff start coming out of the shower drain. Lets just say that he was not a happy camper. Water was flying everywhere with how hard he was plunging the toilet and then he would go and stand in the shower and start plunging there too. I walked in and gagged from what I smelled and from seeing him standing in the unfinished shower barefoot in all that gross sewer water! So finally he gives up and decides that a simple plunger is not going to fix the problem. So I had him sterlize his feet, opened the window, closed the bathroom door, and made both of us sleep upstairs on the couches. The smell was unbearable.....and I think I remember reading somewhere that sewer gas can be fatal so I wasn't taking a chance.

I am thankful that we were able to schedule an appointment with roto-rooter to come, again, the next morning.

I think I am in love

Photobucket

My 3 year old begged and begged to have her room painted orange. So we fell for it when she would ask in her cute little voice and look at us with those beautiful brown eyes. And you know what? I just love the color we chose. I am grateful that you can't really tell that it is a shower curtain I used for her window treatment.
