The aftermath

The wind storm last night wasn't too bad, but the one the day before was pretty nasty.

We were without power and I was so thankful that we had 2 fire places to put to use cause we were freezing!

We had minor damage to our place....some roof damage was the biggest thing.

So today I decided to venture out since I really needed to run some errands. Just on the street that leads to the freeway I saw trees down everywhere. And lots of signs were destroyed.

To give you an idea of how many trees were blown down here are some facts that were in our city's newsletter:

*Our County declared a state of emergency on the 4th.
*Several thousand truck loads of debris and green waste were taken to dumping sites.
*In one day, the sewer facility received the amount of green waste normally produced in 2-3 YEARS.
* The work done by the volunteers in the neighborhoods would have taken the city crews until next spring to accomplish.
*216 Stop and Yield signs were replaced or repaired.
* The line of cars to the landfill was miles long.

Yeah. It was quite the storm.

Quite the adventure of trying to entertain kids without any power on.
