Toil toil Boil and Bubble!

Photobucket

Baby Rootbeer brought home a volcano from school. We decided to set it off today.
This is the recipe that was used to make the volcano:
Mix 6 cups flour
2 cups salt
4 Tablespoons cooking oil
2 cups of water in a large bowl
Work the ingredients with your hands until smooth and firm. Add more water (or flour) to the mixxture if needed.
*It is better that the salt dough be a bit dryer to work with, rather than sticky.
They formed the volcano around an empty water bottle (with the top cut off). Then after the dough dried they added baking soda and then vinegar to it. We also added food coloring.
I am grateful for science experiments.

Volcanoes are always lots of fun! (Well, the pretend ones are.)
