bpppppt!

Don't you just love it when you are all excited about something and it doesn't turn out the way you expected?

That is what happened with this craft activity with the girls. The place I found it didn't have picture and the instructions weren't the best either, but it looked simple and quick.

So I had the girls draw a picture with a crayon (make sure they color a little thick so there is more crayon wax on the picture) on heavy paper and then they crumpled it up, just like the directions said. And then we got the paper wet and straightened it out. (The instructions weren't really clear if you were supposed to let the paper dry or do it while the paper was still wet, so we tried both and leaving the paper wet worked better).

Then you are supposed to paint over the whole thing with a dark colored paint....a thinner paint, like Tempera Paint (we tried some other craft paint first but it was too thick and dried too fast).

And while the paint is still really wet, you place a blank sheet of paper on top of the wet on and press down on it. It is supposed to be a lithograph of the original picture.

Didn't turn out to well. The girls were pretty bummed with the results. If you have any tips or tricks or different ways of doing something similar to this, please share.

I am grateful that they girls didn't tell me it was a lame craft even though I know that was what they were thinking.

Cool project. I've never seen it. I like how it turned out, though. I must be lame.

I've never seen that one. just the one where you color hard over the entire paper no picture just colors, then paint it black and wait for it to dry then scratch a picture in the black.
