Day 259

When I asked Ashlyn what kind of cake she wanted all she said was surprise me. That is a first. Usually there is always a request for a certain type of cake. So I thought for a while and decided that I would make some type of fairy cake since we were going to decorate her room with fairies for her birthday (thanks for the fairies!). So I gave it a try and this is what I came up with. It was done in a rush and could be done better, but it was fun trying to come up with something. It is 2 round cakes. One cut out as a flower and set on top of the other layer of cake. The best part was that Ashlyn loved it!
Weston was able to come home early from work and Ashlyn talked us into opening presents. Then we went to her soccer game and after that we went out to her restaurant of choice.....she chose Chuck-a-Rama. Boy that girl can eat! We went there with her cousin Porter (whose bday was the day before) and his family and they seemed to have a great time hanging out together. By the time we got home it was too late for cake so we are saving it for tomorrow. I am so so so grateful that Ashlyn is part of my family. She adds so much and is so fun to be around.
