Day 227

.
.
.
We made it over to the Busch Wildlife Preserve this afternoon...just in time for the animal show. The animals don't do tricks or anything for the show, but we get to see some native animals to the area and we also got to pet them. There was a baby alligator, a red rat snake, a skunk, an opossum, and an owl. It was pretty cool. The preserve is to help injured animals heal and be released back into the wild or those animals who won't be able to survive in the wild get to stay there on the preserve....in cages. It is a great idea, but it makes me so sad to see the ones in the cages. This little tortise was the smallest in his cage and he was trying so hard to get through the cage bars. Poor little guy! =( But, I am grateful for the people here who put forth the effort to help these animals to get back to the wild.

Poor baby! I think I'd want out to, no matter how nice it was inside.
