Day 44

A day like today, a day of errands and shopping, tends to give me a headache....especially when I am toting little ones around with me. I got back home with the start of a headache, very tired, and some good buys. We stopped by some craft stores and got some valentines stickers and such to use next year that were 70-90% off and we also found some cool stuff at DI. It was also a lesson to my oldest that you don't have to buy something at every store you go into. She is usually in school when I go shopping and such, so today when we left the first store we went to she said 'Mom, we can't leave yet, we didn't buy anything.' I thought it was good for her to see....maybe it will help her in the future so she doesn't feel like she always has to buy something.

So this evening as I was looking out the window at the winter weather and wanting to take a nap, I looked down at my sad looking plant and saw that there was new growth at the bottom. It was encouraging to see and made me so anxious for spring. So for now I have this little plant to nurture until I can sink my hands into the soil of my flower beds.

There are several good lessons there for kids to learn about money. There is always something new to keep you going when things start getting you down... if you look for them.

Mmmm...hands in soil...dirty feet...

That's good advise, Dragon. :) I saw my daffs today - about 5 inches high!

Stop talking about spring! I have gardening catalogs on my bedside table! It's making me crazy!
