Day 42

I can't believe that we put the bunkbeds back up today! Weston is ready for Acadia to be in a big bed and so up went the beds. Tomorrow night will be her first night in it. I am in denial...she can't be getting big enough for a big bed! Yes, I know she is only 15 months old....our girls have always slept better in a regular bed than in the crib.

The past few days have been kind of hard. We are being visited by a nasty cold. All 3 of the kids have had it for a while and then all of the sudden Ella is coughing, losing her voice, and has a cold in her eye. Acaida's has turned into croup (atleast that is what we think it is). This is our first time dealing with croup and it is hard to keep a little one sitting still and from not getting upset and crying.... which can all agrivate it and can cause in 'episode' where her airway becomes more swollen (well at least that is how webmd described it). And now I can hear Ashlyn coughing. It seems like she is just having one cold on top of the other. Just another reason why I can't wait for spring to come.....fresh air and less colds.

I feel your pain! My boys have had colds too, then Alex had a terrible sleepless crying night so I took him to the Doc. He has yet another ear infection and a sinus infection. On top of all that we have a little girl staying with us while her parents are on a cruise and I think I have a sinus infection too. I can't wait for summer!

What works well for us with colds is a humidifier in every room. It has seriously made a noticeable improvement in how long and how bad our colds get and the amount of cold meds we have to take.

How is she doing in her big bed? We just moved Oliver to a big bed two weeks ago (we needed the crib). The transition went pretty quickly. Just a couple nights and he was ready to sleep in it. Although now it's like a slumber party when the two boys go to bed.
