Day 5

Today I Spent the afternoon helping Ashlyn and her friend make posters for a class project they have been working on since the beginning of December. They had to decide what to sell (snow cones) how much to sell them for (.65) and they made signs to go with it. Tomorrow is the big day where they get to sell their product to class mates during a class fair. They are both excited. After dinner Ashlyn said that she needed to hurry and bathe so she can go to bed because she has a big day tomorrow......if only she said that everyday. But it was a lot of fun watching their minds work on coming up with signs and the idea for their project. I am amazed at how children think. At how they are happy with things even when they are not perfect. How they think it is no big deal if they make a mistake. I am grateful for that and for my children being forgiving and not judging of me when I make a mistake or mess up, too.

It took me a minute to figure out what the sign said! I've been out of school to long! Fun times to remember.

What a cool idea! Let us know how it went. This is a good reminder of why I work with kids (especially this week!) =)

isn't that like selling ice cubes to eskimos? ;-)

pretty much! But it turned out that someone else also was selling snow cones but luckily they ran out of ice! But the girls were happy and said that they made tons of money. Ashlyn came home and showed me all of the stuff she bought with the profits they had made....she had quite a bit of stuff.
