Well, its that time again......my favorite time of year.

Time to do some planting and get some dirt under your nails.  =)

I am thankful that Little A has loved helping me start some seeds.

Today we made fruit leather.

I am thankful for delicious and nutritious things !  I think we'll have to make a bunch more!

Here's the how to:

Take your strawberries ( we had about a pound of them) and put them in your blender.

Blend them up until it is all nice and smooth.

Then I added a little bit of cinnamon (I think it was about 1/2 a teaspoon) and blend that into the strawberries.

Then pour it thinly on to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (NOT wax paper).

Set your oven to the lowest temperature, put the cookie sheet in the oven, leave the oven door cracked open, and check it in a couple of hours to see how it is coming.

When it is done it should not be gooey looking.

Take it out of the oven, let it cool off, and then you can peel it off the paper and eat it.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Yum yum!  =)

Testing Testing. 1,2,3...

Did some testing today.

But it was for my seeds that I have had laying around for a year....or two...or even three.

It is to see what percentage of the seeds are still good so then you have an idea of how many to plant to get the yield that you hope for.

I am finding that I am thankful for Pinterest.

I really am finding a lot of great ideas and I am starting to put them to the test to see if they are tried and true.

My kids came running in the house yelling that I HAD to come outside right now. Their tone of voices made it seem like an emergency. So I rushed out and this is what they had wanted me to see. Lol! I am grateful that it wasn't a real emergency. These flowers make me smile. Spring is on its way!

I am grateful for my fall crop of peas...even though there arn't very many.

A bit of nature in the house.

I am thankful for my garden and that I can go get some fresh cut flowers when the inside of my house needs some cheering up.

So far no wasps.

The kids added this to their secret garden this year. I am thankful that so far we haven't had any wasps make a nest in it.

I am thankful for the different kinds of flowers I have growing in and around my yard this year.

I must say that tomatillo's are one of my favorite things to grow (and eat). I love these little pods that start out empty, but are bursting at the seems when the veggie is ready to be harvested.

I am grateful that I finally found a place that sells them.

Grow baby, Grow!!

I am grateful for all the rain that we have received this spring. My little veggie garden is sure loving it!

Can't say that I like these, but I was still excited to add them to my little backyard garden (which I am thankful for).

I know that I post so many picture of her....but that is just how it is when the other 2 are in school all day. I am grateful that today she was a very passionate gardener. Unfortunately she pretty much wanted me to leave her alone so she could do what she wanted with my flower beds. But with my love of gardening I just couldn't let her get too carried away with it.

Maybe. Just maybe.

Oops. I came across a box outside that had some bulbs in it that I didn't get around to planting in the fall. Maybe, just maybe I can get them to bloom this year if I plant them now.
